In the previous article, we discussed about what is Azure and some of its basic services.
For readers who are entirely new with Azure, one way to actually start investigating these services that are offered there is to actually go ahead and create what is known as an Azure free account. In this article, we will discuss how to create a free Azure account.
You must already have a Microsoft account in order to create an account. You can go ahead and create a Microsoft account based on your Gmail ID or you can use your GitHub account to create an Azure account.
You also need to have a credit card ready. In essence, the credit card is utilized for security reasons. You won't be charged in any manner until you really decide that you want to begin using these services, which are not offered for free by Azure.
There are certain services that you can access with Azure free accounts. Additionally, you receive $200 in free credit when you sign up for an Azure free account. These two hundred dollars’ worth of credit is valid for 30 days.
Therefore, either after 30 days or when your $200 in credit expires then, in order to keep using Azure, you must convert what is known as your subscription so that it is tied to your free Azure account as a free subscription.
Therefore, we must proceed and change that subscription to a pay as you go one. Thus, you will begin paying for the services that are not provided for free.
Please note that when it comes to these services, there are limitations. Also, you might not be able to use the services in the region of your choice. So there might be restrictions based on that as well.
